Built for practice owners
Practice owners are clinicians first. You trained for years in a discipline that had nothing to do with reading a balance sheet, then took on a business with payroll, inventory, financed equipment, deferred revenue, and a payer mix, and the person you hired to keep the books was never asked to explain any of it to you.
So the reports arrive and get filed. The real questions go unanswered. Is this month good? Can I afford the associate? Why is cash tighter than revenue suggests? Should I take the offer?
Patient care, practice finance, and planning are all critical to your success, but different capabilities.
We understand your goals and partner with you while you practice, growing the practice through expansion, financing or acquisition, and supporting you when it is time to transfer ownership to a family member or a buyer.
We think the interpretation is the job, and the bookkeeping is the prerequisite.
That's the whole thesis. Clean books are table stakes; the value is in someone who knows your numbers and your practice telling you what they mean. We're trying to make you literate in your own practice, not to make you dependent on us.

Founder. Spent fifteen years at Gartner as a Managing Director, leading its best-practices program for mid-market CFOs, a network of more than 900 finance chiefs.
The work went past the finance function itself to company performance, what drives it, what erodes it, and how the numbers should shape the decisions that determine outcomes and exits.
A practice owner asks the same questions, is this hire working, can we afford to expand, what is this worth, with nobody in the building whose job is to answer them. That gap is why MedPraxis CFO exists.
